Irish Jewellery Designer from Cork

As a kid I always enjoy creativity, I hoarded all materials I found around the house and turned them into art. It was no surprise when I've chosen to study Fine Art Sculpture in Crawford College Art and Design in Cork. It was where I discovered my love for metal, I specialised in large welding pieces and continued to draw with pen on paper.

My family are from Taiwan, we came to Cork in 1994 to study English and we settled here ever since. I truly believe training with Chinese Calligraphy at young helped with my steady hand for ink drawings and welding/soldering. Hopefully my love for Asian culture and culinary shows through my work too.

My love for fashion and design took me to a different route after graduating with honours degree and post grad, I worked mainly in fashion retail for 15 years. I've worked for a lot, I mean a lot, of retailers. During the recession, I moved to Dublin for work and was fortunate to land myself jobs in buying offices, became a product developer in ladies accessories and moved to buying office with Dunnes Stores. My last interview with a well known Irish jewellery Company made me realise I wanted to create something unique and that is not mass produced. I realised the importance of quality and having "Irish made" under my name.
It took another three years before I made things happen for myself, pop a baby and I took jewellery courses from various talented Irish Jewellers and they all taught me various skills and valuable lessons and the rest is history.
